Denise Ann Adler, Studio 610

NYC based mixed media collage artist, Denise Adler studied with feminist artist Juanita McNeely in the 70’s when she attended Suffolk Community College. She then moved on to Buffalo State University for 2 years where she studied printmaking arts. After graduating from Hofstra University with a degree in Fine Arts and design, Adler published the book “Parallel Spell: 7 pictures 7 poems” in collaboration with the poet and writer Elena Alexander. She is also a founding member of ArtSpeak Collective, a virtual gallery platform for artists, established during the pandemic with tech specialist Ginger Dhaliwal and artists Barbara Shelly and Laurie Murray. Alex Amini, Studio 1014

In 1997 or 98 I happened to walk into the tenth floor of 526 west 26th street building which was being subdivided. I met Gloria Naftali who was assigning the rooms. I got the space with the skylight. She didn’t ask for a credit check or any
references, this was the first time I got a space under my name. I was so thankful because I couldn’t provide the necessary guarantees.

ARCIVE ORIGINALS, Suite 1002

ARCHIVE ORIGINALS is a curated collection of rare and distinguished works for collectors seeking powerful, thought-provoking imagery for their homes, offices, or private collections. Spanning decades, this archive brings together celebrated series, each offering a unique perspective on music, culture, and human connection.

Some notable series in the collection are:

THE NOISEMAKERS captures the pulse of rock and roll through the eyes of a 17-year-old who found himself on the front lines of history. With a backstage pass and camera, he documented the unfiltered energy of David Bowie, The Grateful Dead, R.E.M., Ziggy Marley, and more. A unique aspect of this collection is The SUMO-CHROMES, 20-inch versions of the original Kodachrome, and the SUMO CONTACT SHEETS—a rare, frame-by-frame look at entire performances, allowing you to experience the raw energy of an entire song.

REVISIONS, a striking collection of original silkscreens exhibited alongside Andy Warhol’s Superstars, links Lynch’s work to the lineage of pop art and cultural iconography.

THE NEWFOUNDS, a surreal series following tiny travelers navigating the world, earned an artist residency at the Museum of Arts and Design and multiple awards for its innovation.

Five Months in Italy offers an intimate look at the country’s landscapes, people, and rare access inside the Vatican.

NATIVE TO THIS LAND honors the regality of Native American communities, preserving culture through powerful portraits created in a traveling location studio.

ARCHIVE ORIGINALS is an exclusive opportunity for collectors to acquire rare, historic, and timeless works—art that holds lasting significance across generations.

Dianne Athey, Studio 302

Art and music resonate together in my being, sharing space both complimentary and confronting. Born in Akron, Ohio (1953), Dianne moved to New York City after attending Kent State University where she majored in Graphic Design. She had a long career in design and advertising and partnered in agencies; A.L.&O. Creative Consultants and A&G Design. She also enjoyed her position as full-time Design Director of Town & Country magazine.

Having learned classical piano and guitar while growing up, she took up the bass guitar in her 20’s and joined the New Wave band Nervus Rex with whom she recorded and toured. She considers Chrissie Hynde a strong influence as they grew up playing guitars together and devouring the rock scene in Ohio. Dianne went on to play with The Riddles and continues to be a passionate bassist.

Dianne began her painting practice at the Art Student’s League first drawn to portraiture, and after years, became a life member. She studied with numerous teachers but considers Robert Neffson and Nelson Shanks to be her mentors. Today she paints figuratively in oil from her Chelsea studio. Mostly known for her series of seaglass paintings and scenes of trapeze couples in mid-air, she also shows abstract paintings.

Jonathan Feldschuh, Studio 715

Jonathan Feldschuh is an artist and scientist, originally trained as a physicist at Harvard.  He went on to study painting and drawing at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague.  His work has been included in numerous solo and group exhibitions, at public venues such as the National Academy of Sciences, the AAAS Gallery, the Louisiana Art & Science Museum, and the Herter at UMass, as well as at private galleries such as Mixed Greens, Cynthia Broan, Richard Salmon, Fredric Snitzer, and Marella Arte Contemporanea.

His artwork has been organized into various series and projects centered on scientific ideas.  The overarching theme of his work has been something he refers to as “instrumental vision” - the ways in which scientific advances create new ways to see and understand the universe.  At the same time, almost all his work features a commitment to the material processes of painting.

The Large Hadron Collider series presented paintings on translucent mylar of the world’s largest particle accelerator.  Each work had a view of some part of the detector on the front side of the mylar, with the reverse side having an abstract splash of paint formed by the “collision” of different jets of paint with the surface. The Particle Spin series features circular panels with magnetic mounting, and explores quantum phenomena such as spin, symmetry breaking, and particle entanglement

The stories speak to the cycles of nature, our connection to aging and mortality, and the fragility and resilience of the human experience. As a lifelong learner, Beth uses current technology to help articulate her message. She loves to harness natural light to capture the compositions by using a large format camera and digital back.

Beth’s fine art and professional work have won numerous accolades and been exhibited extensively throughout her career. Several of her personal projects have gained national and international regard.

Paul Michael Graves
Paul Michael’s “technobabble” came to him early one morning during his final year at Columbia GSAPP. It has since become a daily meditative practice and operates as a kind of jazz, riffing on pattern and form. Blurring categorization, Paul invites the viewer to observe, to read, and to draw from their own experience, allowing each person to form their own interpretation of his work. His language is diagrammatic and implies a communication with the technological. His fascination with these graphic devices stems from a background in Mathematics and Architecture—he studied at the US Air Force Academy in Colorado and Columbia University. After 9/11 he began oil painting to combat the demands of deploying as a special operations helicopter pilot throughout the 2000s. Since 2019 he has been painting full-time from his studio in West Chelsea. Paul Michael has artwork in the collections of Sir Elton John, Neil Patrick Harris, Michael Rubin as well as Architectural Digest, Elle Decor and other publications.

Judi Harvest, Studio 813

My work is concerned with the fragility of life and the search for beauty. I am an interdisciplinary artist working with Murano glass, oil and watercolor paintings, video and mixed media sculpture, all inspired by nature. My works are often human scale and interactive, as in Monumental Hive. My message is:“what happens to the pollinators, happens to us.”

I became a beekeeper in 2006. In 2013, I created a garden for honeybees on a former dumping ground for glass in Murano, Italy. This continues to bring awareness to endangered honeybees and endangered glass masters, two colonies of beauty on the road to extinction. DENATURED: Honeybees + Murano was part of the 2013 Venice Biennale.

NIGHT AND DAY: Bats + Bees concerns 24/7 pollination. When the bees go inside at sundown, the bats come out and pollinate the night blooming crops including bananas, chocolate, cashews, coffee, coconuts, agave for tequila, avocados, mangos, and eat 1000 mosquitoes each, per hour. Bats and bees are taken for granted and disappearing due to loss of habitat, pesticides, stress and misinformation. My goal is to bring awareness through art to their beauty, irreplaceable value to our ecosystem and their complex, fundamental lives, inseparable from ours. For me there is no difference between art and life.

My studio is at 526 West 26 Street for 25 years.
I realize that artists are an endangered species and our habitats are disappearing, even faster than those for Bats and Bees. The sense of urgency is at the door.

Laura Kaplan, Studio 510

Laura Kaplan's sculptures and paintings are process based .She works intuitively. The work is visceral often an expression of how our internal world manifests physically. The works resemble bodies turned inside out and or compartmentalized exposing the interior gunk. There is a magical metamorphosis transformative "thing" happening with the work .
The life sized totems contain found or repurposed objects, and or stockings, pantyhose  ,textiles and paint .They are stuffed with hair and other materials. The paint ,varnish ,and epoxy form a skin with the pantyhose .Some are tied with rope tightly and others are loose but still there like issues people have but haven't been able to let go of.

Kaplan’s art serves as a raw expression of the human condition. There is a tribal kind of emotional forest when seen together.More recently she has been doing ceramics which has brought the work to an entirely different level .

Kaplan and her work has been shown in group shows in NY and Europe, as well as underground and independent films and artist books.

Pat Lipsky, Studio 1011

Born in 1941 in New York, Pat Lipsky became associated with the Lyrical Abstraction movement in the late 1960s and ‘70s. The artist moved beyond that style over the course of her career, exploring color field painting and venturing into what Clement Greenberg—the legendary critic and her longtime friend—described as “close- value color.” Throughout her five-decade practice, Lipsky has remained dedicated to the primacy of color and abstraction to the medium of painting.

A painter and writer, Lipsky in her oeuvre has mined a wide range of visual, literary, and musical sources—drawing inspiration from Josef Albers, Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, Morris Louis, Marcel Proust, T.S. Eliot, Bach, and Thelonious Monk, among others. Lipsky focuses on how each decisive element in the works of these historic figures affects the whole. As she explains: “When Albers puts a white next to a yellow, the yellow is changed—and the white is changed too. ... We look at works of art as single large units—but they're actually composed of hundreds, of thousands of individual and tiny units, each one a decision. It's those units that I've been experimenting with throughout my career.”

Joan Meyer, Studio 5D

Joan Meyer is a NYC based artist who has been refining her style for over 40 years. The work is a mix of Surrealism, Expressionism and Symbolism where the end results in a unique allegorical pictorial vision and palette. Joan spent her early years growing up in the countryside of upstate New York where many hours were spent exploring the woods, streams and ponds with all the textures and life within.

Many things have influenced Meyer’s art. Traveling extensively and witnessing 9/11 and living within a mile of Ground Zero have shaped the tone and subject of many of Meyer’s paintings.

Meyer has over seven years of formal art school training including a BFA from Tyler School of Art/Temple University, a full fellowship to North Carolina School of the Arts, and a Masters in Art from Florida Atlantic University.  She also received a fellowship and studied painting at the Accademia di Bella Arti in Florence Italy.

Meyer has shown extensively in galleries and museums, had articles in major magazines and newspapers (Art in America, Interview, The Miami Herald, Art and Antiques Collector’s edition, etc.) She has won numerous awards including the Cultural Consortium Award for South Florida and first prize from over 1200 submissions from across the US in The Society of the Four Arts. Most recently Meyer had a painting and article featured in the June 10th, 2023 issue of Forbes magazine. Meyer is a full time artist in the Chelsea Art building on 26th street.

Myrna Minter-Forster, Studio 303

New York artist Myrna Minter-Forster has enjoyed a long career mining the rich, evocative territory of abstract gestural painting, interweaving aspects of the body into her compositions to further underscore a very personal exploration of Self.   Whereas the fabled New York Abstract Expressionists early on formed the springboard for Minter’s irrepressible, physically demanding brushwork, the artist, who studied for a time with Theodore Stamos, clearly blazes her own trail infusing her canvases with self-referential iconography.

Minter courageously and unapologetically plots a course leading the willing viewer through emotional territory borne from the artist’s own experiences yet universal in their affect.  Her Wagnerian oil paintings are epic and primal while the mixed media collage works that chart a course throughout her career as well are witty and succinct.  In some cases, both approaches are orchestrated together on a single surface.

Minter-Forster’s work was most recently included in the 2016 group show, “Walking Backward in High Heels, Caelum Gallery, New York, NY and in the 2014 group show, “Sixteen Sweet,” Ivy Brown Gallery, New York, NY.  In addition, Minter’s paintings and collages have appeared in several Postcards From the Edge invitational shows, the Caelum Gallery, Exit Art and Sperone Westwater in New York, the Montclair State University Kingsborough Gallery, New Jersey and the National Jewish Museum, Washington D.C.

Stephen Pusey, Studio 821

Stephen Pusey (born 1952) is a New York-based artist of Irish and British descent known for Abstract art and earlier work as a painter of public murals in London, UK.

In 1986 he moved to New York following his solo exhibition at P.S. 1 . Pusey has exhibited internationally. The late Robert C. Morgan wrote, “Influenced by Borges’ sense of space, time and history, Pusey creates a labyrinthine stasis, embedding distant feelings of the universe that appear in the process of suspending opticality. Instead of a vibrating surface, these
paintings suggest a woven space through an optical texture that defies finite properties.”

In 2019 the artist was commissioned by Seoul Metropolitan Government, South Korea to paint a five sectioned mural in the pavilion of the Oil Tank Culture Park, Mapo District (Mapo-Gu), Seoul.

In a review of a solo exhibition of the artist's paintings in 2021, poet and critic John Yau wrote, “Pusey constantly courts a chaotic mélange of marks but never descends into it. Rather, he respects each of the gestures he makes enough not to destroy them ... Pusey’s cursive marks sit in that zone where writing becomes drawing and vice versa."  Hrag Vartanian in Hyperallergic referred to Pusey's painting in the 2024 New York exhibition at Bienvenu Steinberg & C as “webs of radiant energy”

Jessica Anne Schwartz, Studio 623

Jessica Anne Schwartz: Dissolving Sensory Boundaries

Jessica Anne Schwartz's work manifests the phenomenon of synesthesia—where sound becomes color, emotions turn tactile, and silence resonates visually. Her artistic process begins with profound environmental receptivity, transforming found objects, landscapes, and intangible moments into expressions that feel both immediate and timeless.

Schwartz often describes herself as a vessel through which entities and their histories find life. This channeling produces drawings, paintings, sculptures, and installations that capture sensory crossover with remarkable authenticity. From her synesthetic impressions of Richard Feynman's voice to the internal landscapes of "Paintings from a Place Called Mathilda," each series remains distinct yet interconnected through her consistent exploration of altered perception.

Her work creates an utterly democratic beauty that fosters human connection. Schwartz's brain continuously rearranges sensory inputs, manifesting a brave and inviting world for audiences. This process—as mysterious as it is empathetic—transforms art into a bridge that inspires joy and shared wonder.

For Schwartz, art-making serves as both necessity and discipline, grounding her amid overwhelming sensory abundance. Her rigorous practice balances the tension between her expansive synesthetic experience and the tangible realities of creation. The resulting works carry transformation and depth, embodying unique histories and dialogues.

This remarkable duality—deeply personal yet universally resonant—attracts diverse collectors drawn to her layered narratives and visual richness. Based in Chelsea, New York, with presence across Europe and Asia, Schwartz invites viewers into moments where boundaries between seen and unseen dissolve into pure expression.
