SAVE THE WEST CHELSEA BUILDING PRESERVE THE ARTISTS & ART

Join us in protecting the West Chelsea Building. Together, we can safeguard its legacy and preserve its future for the artists of today and tomorrow.

ABOUT

The West Chelsea Building Artists Association (WCBAA) was founded to safeguard the creative spirit that has defined the West Chelsea Building for decades. Established in 1993 by Gloria and Raymond Naftali as a haven for artists, this historic building has become a pillar of New York City’s global art scene—providing affordable studio spaces and fostering groundbreaking contemporary art.

Our mission is to preserve this vital space in the face of aggressive gentrification and ensure it remains a beacon for artists, galleries, and cultural innovation.

We advocate for the rights of artists, promote the importance of creative spaces, and celebrate the enduring spirit of West Chelsea’s artistic community.

We are not just preserving a building—we are protecting a legacy that empowers creativity, nurtures talent, and enriches the cultural landscape of New York City.
