Scotto Mycklebust is a New York-based artist known for his avant-garde approach and multidisciplinary practice, spanning painting, drawing, sculpture, video, performance, sound, installation art, music, and theater. Rooted in the belief that art can challenge societal norms and inspire change, his work explores contemporary attitudes and the human experience. With a career marked by innovation and a deep engagement with social and political themes, Mycklebust continuously evolves his artistic expression, embracing the moment as his muse.
Beyond his studio, music, and theater practices, Mycklebust is also a prominent figure in New York’s art publishing and public art scene. In 2012, he launched the art commentary print publication Revolt Magazine, later expanding into digital media with ART511 Magazine in 2016 (www.ART511mag.com). He also produces and presents a range of public art programs and events in West Chelsea, including the High Line Open Studios, the West Chelsea Artists Open Studios, and, most recently, the West Chelsea Festival of Art.
